Heroes section in The Salem Democrat
Washington County is full of heroes, most of them unsung heroes. This has come to light most recently because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Those who were maybe taken for granted before are now on the frontlines and we, their family, friends and neighbors are so thankful for them.
Readers were asked to submit their "heroes" for a special suplement section in The Salem Demcrat, June 11. Some of those nomited include: Sonnja Brown, Callie Sparkman, Myra Bell-Hildreth, Kimberly Sama, Cherly Lee, Rhett and Rachel Huffaker, Lisa Martin, Ethel Terrell, Ashley Jerrell, the staff at Ruler Foods, Kim Kiefer, Karen Smedley, Gwen Hardin, Natalie Kelley, Brittany Hamilton, Dr. Lorenzo Thomas Hughes, and so many, many more.
The Salem Democrat is on newwstands now. Pick up a printed copy to cut out for the hero's scrapbook.
