Free summer events at the library

Take a “Storywalk” with the Salem Public Library. Enjoy a great family activity together while reading and walking. Walk on our “Storywalk” route on the walking trail at the YMCA starting on June 2.  Walk north to the YMCA and read Pete the Cat & the Cool Cat Boogie. From the YMCA walk south toward town and read The Nuts—Sing and Dance in your Polka-Dot Pants. Read the story, get some exercise and have fun!

Family Night - Monday, June 4 at 5:30 p.m. this week we will have a Rockin’ story time! No pre-registration needed for this week.

Toddler Time and Preschool Story will start on Tuesday, June 5! Call to find out the time for your child’s age group and to pre-registration for these programs. To register call the library at 812-883-5600.

Music with Mr. Davis - Join us at the library for a Rockin’ good time! Mr. Duane Davis will have your child rocking and rolling on Friday mornings in this fun and lively program for children ages 5 and under. This program will be held on Friday mornings staring on June 8.

Crafty Creations: For children entering grades K—5. (Ages 5 and under will attend music program.) Time: 10:30 a.m. June 8 we will be making Rain Sticks.

ROCKets! 

  At the Piper Museum located at the Salem Airport on Thursday, June 7 at 2:00 p.m.

we will have fun making airplane Gliders, watching a movie and shooting off stomp rockets at the airport. Join us for these and many more fun activities at the airport.

Summertime Cooking - Join us on Wednesday, June 6 at 5:30 p.m. and learn about healthy eating, living and more with Joni Muchler from Purdue Extension.
