Forestry walking tour

The Washington County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD), along with many local conservation partners, will host a FREE Forestry Walking Tour on Saturday, April 14, at the property of Bill and Kathy Smith located at 10025 S Big Springs Road, Pekin 47165.

Registration will begin at 8:3 a.m. and a light breakfast will be served. Participants will then begin a forestry tour at 9 a.m. A free lunch will be served. The tours will be in forested areas, so dress accordingly—including sturdy shoes. The event will be held rain, snow, or shine.

At the field day, hear from forestry professionals about invasive plants and invasive plant treatment, permanent wildlife habitat, forest stand improvement, warm season grass plantings and conservation programs. 

This field day will include a walking tour through forested areas.  Please dress accordingly—including sturdy shoes. In the event of inclement weather and/or saturated soil conditions, the event will be held indoors at South Liberty Church located at 24 W South Liberty Church Road, Pekin.

Limited space is available for this event. RSVP is required to the Washington County Soil & Water Conservation District at (812) 883-3006 ext. 3 by April 12t.
