Duke Energy has approximately 5,000 customers without power

Duke Energy announced, around 8 a.m., that they have approximately 50,000 customer outages.

They are still assessing damage and do not have estimated times of restoration yet.

The hardest hit areas include:

Clarksville 246 events, 11,550 cust.

Corydon 218 events, 6,807 cust.  Salem is included with Corydon district.

Madison 127 events, 8,645 cust.

Seymour 104 events, 4,551 cust.

Connersville 63 events, 1,602 cust.

Columbus 42 events, 4,335 cust.

Aurora 32 events, 2,558 cust.

Greensburg 31 events, 1,412 cust.

Bedford 30 events, 2,034 cust.

Shelbyville 16 events, 1,892 cust.

New Castle 12 events, 367 cust.

Bloomington 11 events, 935 cust.

Crews traveling on secondary roads will likely encounter ice-covered roads which will delay restoration work.
