Cheese making 101

The Washington County Goat Association will be hosting a basic cheese making workshop on Saturday, Jan. 26. It will be held at 10 a.m. in the meeting room on the lower level of the Wash- ington County Government Building located at 806 Martinsburg Rd. in Salem.
The class will be taught by Melody DeLury and will feature fresh, soft cheeses. Participants will receive an introduction to supplies and ingredients plus a chance to taste the finished products. This will be a fun, hands-on class that doesn’t require a lot of expensive equipment or crazy ingredients.

The cost is $30 per person and there must be at least 15 people pre-registered to hold the class. RSVP to the Washington County Exten- sion Office no later than Jan. 18 by calling 812-883-4601.
Anyone unable to attend who would like more information about the Washington County Goat Association should contact one of the Association’s officers/directors: President Tom Coats; Vice President Jeremy Hardwick; Treasurer Angela Kelley, Secretary Jessica Timberlake, or Directors Craig Powers, Sarah Garvin, Ross Timberlake, Betsy Calloway and Tim Guthrie.
