Centra Credit Union to open in Salem

Centra Credit Union is gearing up to open a branch in Salem, located in the former Old National Bank on Jackson Street.

The branch opened their drive-up ATM machine in November and plans to open its main lobby in a few weeks.

Rick Silvers, President and CEO of Centra said, “We are very excited for this opportunity to expand Centra’s reach into the community of Salem. We already have several thousand Centra Members residing in the Salem area and we are happy to be able to offer service to them more conveniently. As the sole Credit Union in Salem, we are pleased to be able to introduce our service-oriented approach to new members as well.”

Over the past quarter century, Centra has expanded well beyond its origins in Columbus, Indiana. Salem will become Centra’s twenty-fifth branch location.

In November, Centra hired Charlee White, a Washington County local, as Branch Sales Manager for the Salem branch. Charlee has extensive business and financial services experience, including the past three years as head teller for First Harrison Bank’s Salem branch. Charlee is a 2004 graduate of Salem High School and a 2008 graduate of Sullivan University in Louisville.

Headquartered in Columbus, Indiana, Centra Credit Union is a community-based, full-service financial institution, serving multiple communities in 24 locations throughout central and southern Indiana, as well as Jamestown, New York and Whitakers, North Carolina. Founded in 1940, Centra provides financial accessibility, affordability, and education for more than 140,000 members through a full range of banking services including Savings and Checking options, Auto Loans, Mortgage Loans, Credit Cards, Business Loans and Deposits, as well as Financial Management Services.
