Journey through game night at the YMCA

The Washington County Family YMCA will host Halloween at the Y on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 5-6:30 p.m. to bring family fun and youth development opportunities for the community.

Everyone is invited to enjoy games, activities, treats, a haunted house, and SO MUCH MORE at the Y. This year’s theme is “Game Night”, so come ready to journey through a fun-filled night of games. This free family event will be a great opportunity to come out and enjoy some time together. Costumes are encouraged for all to make this a super fun event, but are requested to be “family friendly”. Costumes should be modest, and are requested to refrain from gore, with our youngest trick-or-treaters in mind.

“We love hosting this event each year,” said Youth First Director Chelsey Miller. “It’s a great way to bring our community together and an awesome addition to all the other Halloween events going on in our community!”

The YMCA strives to provide family geared activities in an effort to increase the 40 Developmental Assets in youth. By encouraging family time, a safe and constructive activity for youth, and a sense of community, the Y intends to build resiliency in our future generation. This Halloween event is made possible by Y volunteers, members and staff and the support of SADD. SADD, Students Against Destructive Decisions, is an organization at Salem High School led by Jeanne Page.

The Y is currently accepting volunteers and treat donations for anyone interested in helping with this free event for the community. Contact the YMCA or Member Engagement Director Taylor Martin via e-mail at taylor@wcfymca.org to find out more about how you can be a part of this special event.
