On Veterans’ Day, there will be a dedication ceremony naming the bridge on South Main Street, Salem, the “Washington County Veterans Memorial Bridge. The ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11.
The bridge is located between Smoking HAWGS BBQ Restaurant & Catering and the KFC restaurant.
Andrew Bush, Washington County Veterans Service Officer, will serve as the master of ceremonies. Washington County Commissioner Rick Roberts will lead the “Pledge of Allegiance,” and Ricky Main will give the invocation.
Speakers include District 69 Indiana State Representative Jim Lucas; District 70 Indiana State Representative Karen Engleman; Major General Dale Lyles, Indiana Adjutant General; and Commissioner Rick Roberts.
The committee organizing the dedication express their thanks, in advance, to Ricky Main, state representatives Lucas and Engleman, MG Lyles, the county commissioners, county elected officials, Salem Mayor Justin Green, other distinguished guests and WSLM for providing the sound system.
The public is encouraged to attend.
