Racing in for school breakfast

National School Breakfast week is coming to an end, and East Washington rolled out a new initiative at Eastern High School to bring awareness to the importance of breakfast. The school purchased a food cart and took breakfast to the students. As students arrive in the mornings, they often assemble in the gym and food services has taken their new "Pit Stop Cafe" to the gym where the students congregate.

"Our goal is to increase student praticipation with our breakfast program," said Food Services Director Greg Hopkins. "Our food service staff at the high school are working hard to bring new ideas and services to our kids … EHS Cafeteria Manger, Beth Mauck has been instrumental in wanting to offer this service to our kids and has put in a lot of time getting the program up and running!"
