EW to consider adding virtual tech to teaching tool arsenal

East Washington Middle School student Iris Zinser tries out the virtual immersion program during the school board meeting on Feb. 25.

During the February East Washington board meeting Brett Clark brought in a demonstration of devices that could be used in the potential virtual immersion labs, should the school decide to purchase the equipment. The devices would let students pull images into a virtual, 3D world to learn an examine things like anatomy and biology, earth science and even welding. There's also the potential for students to use the devices to design objects and send them to a 3D printer to be printed.

More discussion about the immersive devices will be brought up at future board meetings.
