Backtrack performing at SMS, April 8

The award-winning Backtrack Vocal Ensemble brings its talents to the Performing Arts Center at Salem Middle School Monday, April 8, for a public concert at 8 p.m.

Backtrack is based in New York City. These five musicians take the stage around the nation at performing arts centers, corporate events, music festivals, schools and more. They infuse heart and humor into every performance and cover genres from pop to Motown to classical, as well as original compositions. Their exciting arrangements transform familiar tunes and showcase the top-notch vocal abilities of all the members.

Recent tours include a three-week Midwest tour, a holiday tour on both coasts, and a California tour. Backtrack has conducted educational programs at over 200 schools, and earlier that day will workshop Salem Choir students on topics including beatboxing and group vocal improvisation.

Backtrack got its start on YouTube, where the group now has over 10 million views and 110,000 subscribers. You can check them out at BacktrackVocals.com.

Tickets for the April 8 concert are available at the SHS Bookstore during school hours only (no phone sales) or online at SalemChoirs.org. All seats are $5 (kindergarten and younger are free) and seating is first-come, first-serve.
