The West Washington Drama Club will present "“Seussical the Musical” this weekend. The play premiers Friday at 7:30 p.m. and the students will also perform Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets are $8 each and can be purchased at the doors.

Characters include

JoJo, an imaginative girl with the world of Seuss whirling around in her head, played by Zoe Wallace.

Senior Amanda Porter brings to life one of Seuss’s most recognized creations — The Cat in the Hat.

Mary Scott plays a character fans of the Horton stories might remember — that “old good-for-nothing bird, runaway” Mayzie.

“There’s a range of emotions,” Porter said. “You’ll laugh until your stomach hurts, but there’s some parts that will hit you in the gut. You’ll be angry at some of the characters and feel for others.”
“The characters are more complex than you’d expect,” said Scott.
“But kids will still understand,” said Porter.
