The Scott County Soil & Water Conservation District, Natural Resources Conservation Service and Purdue Extension will host a Pasture Walk on Tuesday, August 7 with Grazing Specialist Robert Zupancic. Please meet us at 6 pm on John McNeely’s farm at 2804 E. Lovers Lane, Scottsburg, IN. Soil and hay samples from the host’s farm have been taken and results will be shared as we talk about what to look for on test results and how to improve pasture and hay ground. Topics to be discussed include: pasture seeding with Pure Live Seed calculations, Heavy Use Area protection, and grazing strategies for different animals on the pasture. The workshop will be outdoors and will involve walking short distances and/or walking over uneven terrain to view areas related to workshop topics. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing.
